Hello hello how are you doing this fine day? Other than sweating my face off I am doing well. We are in the mid 90’s now plus the humidity and I don’t even know why I put makeup on somedays, I just sweat it off! I’m now into the 5 minute get ready routine with just sun block, mascara and lip gloss! Today I want to answer some of the questions I have gotten regarding what I think of Orange Theory and a general run down of what it is.
I started Orange Theory about 10 months ago. I didn’t know much about it at the time but some friends of mine did it and raved about it so I wanted to give it a try. Honestly I have really enjoyed it. I am not a good gym person. I NEVER went to the gym. When I worked out I did it at home and it was mainly running or Jillian Michaels DVD’s! So I have never been one that goes somewhere to work out, that was just out of my comfort zone. So I was a little nervous when I started Orange Theory. Here’s what I love about it. Someone tells you what to do. It’s like having a quasi personal trainer. They tell you what to do and you have a certain amount of time to do it in, and the exercises are different every day. No monotonous routines, new day new workout! I LOVE this because one of my biggest exercise obstacles was I didn’t know what to do. The second thing I love: You wear a monitor that tells you when you are in the “Orange Zone,” If you spend at least 12 minutes in the “Orange Zone” you will burn more calories over the next 24 hours. The reason this is a big plus to me is that I can see when I am not working that hard and can push myself harder than I normally would. This is huge because it makes your workout so much more effective! Next I really see results. I am definitely stronger and more toned than I used to be. Not to say that I don’t have work to do but there is a huge difference in the me now vs. the me 10 months ago. The workouts consist of three things: the treadmill, the weight room, and the rower. The rower is what took me the longest to get the hang of but the more you do it the better you get at it. Finally the number one question I get asked….YES anyone can do it! You do not have to be in the best shape of your life to do these workouts. They are made to get you in shape and yes they are tough you are not going to waltz through them but that is the point. Most of my classes consist of people in their late 20’s to their mid 70’s and every age in between. You can do it! Don’t psyche yourself out we are all there to achieve similar goals and it’s really a great supportive community of people. So go ahead give it a try, you can try a class for free!
